Privacy policy

RealWalls is a wallpaper app for Android. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, email hello@realwalls.app.
The short version
- There's no account to create, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- Your hearts, collections, edits and settings stay on your phone.
- If you buy RealWalls Pro, the purchase is handled by Google Play and recorded by RevenueCat against a random ID, not your name or email.
What stays on your phone
These are stored only in the app's own storage on your device, and are never sent to us or anyone else:
- the wallpapers you heart, the collections you make, and your edits (framing, angle, exposure and so on)
- your settings, such as theme, layout and animation speed
- Pro wallpapers you've viewed, kept in the app's cache so they load quickly next time
- the images prepared for a wallpaper cycle
To show what a wallpaper looks like on your home screen, the app reads the names and icons of some apps installed on your phone. That happens on your phone only, while the preview is open, and nothing is saved or sent.
Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android's settings, deletes all of this.
Buying RealWalls Pro
Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card details, name or email address.
We use RevenueCat to keep track of who has Pro. When the app first starts, RevenueCat creates a random ID for your install. RevenueCat receives that ID, the record of your purchase from Google Play (what was bought, when, and its price and currency), and basic technical details such as the app version, Android version and your region. It uses them only to tell the app, and our image server, whether you have Pro. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Downloading Pro wallpapers
Pro wallpapers are downloaded from our image server at images.realwalls.app, which runs on Cloudflare. Each request carries the random ID above, so the server can ask RevenueCat whether you have Pro. The server keeps that answer for a few minutes and does not keep any other record of your requests.
Like any website, Cloudflare necessarily sees your IP address to deliver the images, and uses it to protect the server from abuse, such as limiting how many requests one address can make. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Permissions
- Set wallpaper: to apply a wallpaper to your home and lock screens.
- Save to your gallery: only when you download a wallpaper. The app can add pictures to your gallery but can't read the photos already there.
- Internet: to download Pro wallpapers and check your purchase.
- Run in the background and after a restart: only if you set up wallpaper cycling, so the wallpaper keeps changing with the app closed.
- Vibrate: for the small taps you feel when using the app. You can turn these off in Settings.
- Google Play billing: to buy Pro.
Children
RealWalls isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Deleting your purchase record
To have your Pro purchase record deleted from RevenueCat, email hello@realwalls.app with your Google Play order number (it's in your purchase receipt email). Deleting the record doesn't refund the purchase, and Pro would need to be restored afterwards.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
